These initiatives optimize departmental decision-making by leveraging comprehensive analysis and informed perspectives.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Extensive experience in data warehouse development, management, and administration
  • Experience in data warehouse concepts, methodologies, and architecture (i.e.: dimensional modeling, star schema, data vault)
  • Extensive experience with data warehousing tools (i.e.: SQL Reporting Server, Power BI, ETL, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong project management, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate contentious issues with tact
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)


Desired:

  • Knowledge of the Justice system and Justice operations
  • Knowledge of the existing Justice related systems and data domain

 

Duties:
This position will have lead responsibility for the modernization of the way that the BIU acquires, stores, processes, and integrates data. Primary responsibilities will include working with Manitoba’s central Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS) group and Justice IT to determine the best approach for data to be staged to the BIU, and the design and implementation of the technology and infrastructure necessary for this. The position will also have a primary responsibility for the design and development of a data warehouse that will aggregate data from various sources to support fast and efficient data analysis and reporting by the BIU. The position will also support the implementation of the Courts Modernization Project and on-going reporting requirements within the Department of Justice.
