Position: Business Data Analyst
Location: Remote in Nova Scotia

The Position:
The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in the collection, processing, and analysis of financial and operational business data. This position is essential for ensuring the company meets its financial and business objectives and providing insights for continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:
Review monthly financial statements:
· Maintain and update monthly financial statements
· Conduct job margin reviews for operations
· Analyze and provide commentary on statement variance reports
· Prepare materials for review meetings with business unit managers
· Support MD&A/Governance reporting for monthly Board packages
Forecasting:
· Perform cost analysis and short-term EBITDA forecasting
· Assist in both revenue and backlog forecasting, including analysis
Reporting & Monitoring:
· Maintain weekly and monthly operational and financial reports
· Update and enhance existing reports, dashboards and templates
· Support the development of improved reporting capabilities
· Participate in various projects and responsibilities as required
· Handle confidential and private information with discretion
Budgeting Process Support:
· Develop budget data templates
· Assist in budget bridge analysis
What You Bring:
· Relevant post-secondary education, such as a degree in business, finance, sciences, etc., or equivalent experience
· 1-3 years of experience in business analysis
· Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and Power BI
· Strong business acumen and understanding of financial statements
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights
· Highly organized and proactive
· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to transform data into meaningful information
· Ability to collaborate with distributed team members
· Strong curiosity and a desire to understand and solve problems
· High degree of confidentiality and discretion when working with sensitive information
· Working towards Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute – Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) certification is an asset
· Willingness and ability to travel to other business locations (Canada & US) if required
