As an AI & Data Analyst you will be responsible for developing, training, and implementing AI and data processing pipelines. You will build tools that will clean, analyze, and provide insights from a variety of geospatial agricultural data (e.g. remote sensing imagery (satellite and infield), soil properties, yield maps, and weather observations). The outcomes of your work will enable farmers to increase the optimization of crop input applications ultimately improving crop productivity and agricultural sustainability.
We are hiring for multiple positions and welcome applications from candidates at all experience levels, from junior to senior.
The ideal candidate will be based in Kelowna, BC or Saskatoon, SK. Consideration will be given to exceptional applicants located in Western Canada.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain AI solutions for our various applications.
- Use AI to expand the capabilities of our technology’s performance.
- Utilize machine learning and deep learning techniques to improve our processes and technology.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand requirements to deliver solutions that align with business needs.
- Ensure systems in place are dependable, scalable and provide value.
- Gather data from various sources and conduct analyses.
Requirements
- Experience with Python and writing clean maintainable code.
- Expertise in statistical data analysis as well as data and numerical modeling.
- Familiarity with Segmentation Models, Image Processing and Computer Vision algorithms.
- Proficient in PyTorch, TensorFlow, NumPy, SciPy, and image processing libraries.
- Ability to understand, analyze, and develop machine learning pipelines.
- Capable of implementing deep learning models from research papers into practical applications.
- Capable of interpreting model performance in terms of accuracy and resource consumption efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of complex data analysis, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
- Experience working with large data sets with knowledge on how to address scalability.
- Experience with Linux/Servers/Command Line and Docker or other containers.
- Direct education in a technical discipline; computer science, computer engineering, information technology, artificial intelligence, and/or environmental sciences.
- Experience building systems based on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Additional Assets
- Strong background of environmental systems (soil and plant sciences, hydrology, biogeochemical cycles) and agronomy
- Familiarity with broad acre agricultural production systems
- Experience with implementing LLMs and VLMs
